Installing
Windows says "Windows protected your PC". Is it safe?
Yes. Windows shows this for new programs it has not seen many times yet. Click More info,
then Run anyway. The warning goes away by itself as more families install Adexo Sim.
Does it work on a Mac, iPad, Chromebook or phone?
Not yet. Adexo Sim runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 laptops and desktops.
Do I need to install Python or anything else?
No. The installer contains everything Adexo Sim needs. No account and no internet connection are
needed after installing.
How do I update to a new version?
Install the new version over the old one. Children, results, papers and settings are all kept.
Using Adexo Sim
What is the difference between a test and Practice mode?
In a test your child answers everything and sees the score at the end, like a real exam.
In Practice mode they can press Check my answer after each question, see a hint and try
again. A parent can switch Practice mode on or off in Parent section → Settings.
How do I turn on "Read aloud"?
Go to Parent section → Settings → Read aloud. Tick "Show the Read aloud button", choose a voice
and speed, and press Test voice. You can also have every question read automatically. It uses the
voices already built into Windows.
Who marks the written answers?
You do. Answers written in sentences show as "pending". A yellow bar in the Parent section shows how many
are waiting: click Mark now, type the marks and click Save marks. The final score and any
certificate appear after that.
When does my child get a certificate?
For a score of 80% or more, once every answer is marked. Certificates can be printed or saved as a PDF
or picture.
Can brothers and sisters use the same computer?
Yes. Add each child in Parent section → Children. Each child has their own tests and results. You can
give each child a secret code (4 numbers or 3 pictures) so nobody takes tests in someone else's
name.
Can I print papers and results?
Yes. You can print a blank paper to do on paper, print or save any result as a PDF, print the answer key
from Parent section → Papers, and print a progress report for each child.
Parent PIN, papers and backups
I forgot my Parent PIN.
On the PIN screen click Forgot PIN? and type the recovery code you wrote down when you set
up Adexo Sim. Then choose a new PIN.
Where do I find my Computer ID?
Open Parent section → Settings (or the Papers tab). Your Computer ID is shown there with a
Copy button. Send it to us when you order papers.
How do I add a paper I received?
Double-click the .adexo file and enter your Parent PIN, or go to Parent section → Papers →
Add paper file…. The paper then appears in your child's test list.
A paper says it is locked to another computer.
Papers open only on the computers they were issued for. If you got a new computer, e-mail us your new
Computer ID and we will help.
How do I keep a backup of my children's results?
Go to Parent section → Settings → Save a backup… and save the file somewhere safe (a USB drive or
cloud storage). Use Restore from a backup… to bring everything back, for example on a new computer.
Does Adexo Sim send my child's information anywhere?
No. Names, answers and results stay on your computer. See our privacy policy.
